Painting/ Mixed Media

"I don’t remember ever wanting to be anything other than an artist. I've been creating in one way or another as far back as I can remember.  My formal training ranges from grade school art classes to earning my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Mason Gross School of the Arts - Rutgers University.  More recent “education” comes from the internet and watching other creators for inspiration and ideas to add to my toolbox.  There’s always something new to learn or try. My work is mixed media – combining watercolor, alcohol markers, colored pencil, fine line markers, and acrylic pen - and ranges in subjects from landscapes/nature to more imaginary/surrealistic pieces.  Surrealism has always intrigued me and seems to suit my stream-of-conscious way of painting/drawing.  Many times, the paint tells me what the subject is – like a Rorschach test.  Born and raised in Jersey, many of the landscapes are from pictures I’ve taken locally.  I hope the work evokes memories, curiosity or just conversation.  Enjoy.
