POTTERY

"I have long believed artwork is an expression of an artist’s inner feeling which is portrayed in a way that relates to others. I hope to accomplish this through my stoneware and porcelain. Using nature is my inspiration, I am currently carving images on various forms and using my original glazes to accent the carvings. These add to my longtime favorite method of piercing original patterns in the sides of thrown work, then curving the rims to accent the form. Glazes are the finishing touch. I use clay that is dense and water-tight. All my pottery is non-toxic, dish-washer, microwave and oven safe to 350°. Pieces can be ordered in other sizes and glazed in any of my stoneware colors", says Joyce.
